This one’s cool, crisp, and utterly refreshing - ideal for those sizzling days. Feeling adventurous? Swap the honey for a cheeky drizzle of confit chilli oil to kick up the savoury vibe. Warning: one won’t satisfy your taste buds, but remember to sip responsibly.

Habanero Hot Honey

SERVES: 1

INGREDIENTS (1 DRINK)

  • 60 ML GOOD-QUALITY TEQUILA BLANCO

  • 30 ML FRESH LIME JUICE

  • 22 ML ORANGE LIQUEUR (COINTREAU OR TRIPLE SEC)

  • 15 ML THE LARDER’S HOT HONEY

  • 1–2 SLICES FRESH JALAPEÑO OR RED CHILLI (OPTIONAL FOR EXTRA HEAT)

  • 1 SMALL PINCH SALT

  • ICE

FOR THE RIM

  • 1 TBSP THE LARDER’S HOT HONEY

  • TAJÍN OR CHILLI-SALT MIX

  • LIME WEDGE

  • Optional : a drizzle of The Larder’s Confit Chilli Oil for a savoury finish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Rim. Spread a thin layer of hot honey around one half of the glass rim then Dip the sticky rim into Tajín or chilli-salt. Add ice to your glass.

2. Mix the Margarita In a shaker, add tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, The Larder’s Hot Honey, salt, and chilli slices (if using). Fill with ice and shake hard for 10–12 seconds until very cold and slightly frothy.

Taste - add more hot honey for sweetness/heat or more lime for brightness.

3. To serve strain into your prepared glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lime wheel and a thin chilli slice.Drizzle a tiny extra bit of The Larder’s Hot Honey on top.
